The ‘I Can I Will’ Philosophy

By | January 16, 2018

Have you ever wondered why some people have successful lives, whilst others live out theirs in complete failure? I seem to remember my mother calling them quite simply ‘the have and have nots’

There’s a single ingredient that separates those who ‘have’ success in life from those who ‘have not’, and that element is how they harness their personal power. Those who use their power will take their dreams and make them come true. They’re courageous in their drive and will take immediate, repeated action, and will never give up until they can live their greatest ambitions.

Most people though lack this ability, they may have the same yearnings, the same desires; lets face it the entire population of the world probably does; yet most remain stuck in the same unfulfilled lives; never realising their dreams – each day an endless round of ‘what if’s’.

It is easy to feel powerless in our modern society, forever at the whim of others … a boss perhaps, or the bank or credit card company, sometimes it feels like everyone is trying to hold you back. But within each of us is an incredible power that once discovered will allow us all to achieve anything we desire – for all of us to become a ‘have’, rather than a ‘have not’. I know that sounds incredible, fanciful even; but everything we ever wanted can become a reality. Like it or not, we’re all ruled by our habits and a belief system built throughout our lives right to this moment. Whether these habits are positive or negative depends on our own choices. We can choose not to allow our mind to be dominated by negative thoughts, or we can make the conscious decision to replace negative ideas and impulses with positive ones whenever they occur. Positive habits will automatically influence your mind to be more alert, your imagination to be more active, your enthusiasm to grow and your willpower to increase.

So let’s begin our journey – an exciting expedition; training our mind to work with our subconscious mind so we can live the life we want and achieve our goals. Here you will find a series of articles that will allow you take another step, handing you your ‘learn by doing’ keys that will help you incorporate each advance into your personal makeup. You’ll make lasting changes – changes you haven’t been able to make until now and the result of these will positively affect your happiness, success and well being for the rest of your life. None of this will happen over night, it’s not an instant miracle cure – but over time the positive influences will have an enormous effect on every aspect of your life you wish to change. If you think about your dreams and what’s important to you, what your ultimate lifestyle might be; you will realise we’re all traveling toward or further away from our ambitions all the time. If we procrastinate, we’re putting off our dreams – maybe for a short while, perhaps forever, so begin to live your dreams now, each day, every day. It’s important to take action now, it doesn’t matter if these are only small changes to begin with, those who are in control of their personal power will immediately take action, focus their attention on what they desire – and this is a great starting point for you too.

Various scientific studies suggest we use a mere 10% of our true mind potential, whilst others produce a calculation as low as 2% -I know from personal experience mine can dip into the negative at times, but it’s important to identify within yourself when this happens, and begin training your mind to dwell on the positive aspects of any life event you face

‘I can I will’ is what we call a self-motivator – a reminder to bring us back into the positive mind state. It’s a great way to train yourself; you can use any word or phrase that’s meaningful to you, and reminds you of your commitment to a positive mindset, taking charge of your personal power and the goals you are pursuing.

By recalling your self-motivator to memory often, especially when you’re confronting a situation when a positive mindset is called for, you will strengthen your resolve to act in the most appropriate way. Repeat your self-motivator as often as you can, aloud if you’re alone; with feeling and emotion. I’ll give you some examples in a moment. Try repeating it as you go to sleep, when you’ve reached that great relaxed feeling, when you have switched off from the day’s activities and your mind is calm. Keep repeating it – perhaps fifty times. Eventually it will become a habit, and in so doing will become a part of your subconscious thinking, a part of who you are.

So often people say ‘I’m an intelligent person, I’m skilled at what I do. Why am I stuck here; where I’ve always been – why can’t I move forward, what is wrong with me? I always find myself back where I started! The answer is simple, personal power, a positive mind rather than one that dwells on the negative is not about being intelligent – a degree in maths or any other subject does not instill a natural ability to take charge of your personal power. Personal power is about an honest, well-balanced way of thinking, having a successful consciousness; an all embracing philosophy of living your life, coupled with the ability to follow through each event or plan you make with the right actions and reactions.

Sounds a tall order? Well actually it’s not, again it’s about training your mind to automatically occupy a particular way of thinking. We’ve already begun this task by giving the mind a gentle nudge in the positive direction by using our self motivator. The brain is the physical matter that houses the mind. Often the ‘brain and mind’ are used to explain the same things – intelligence, the ability to think and reason, to remember. But the two are quite distinct from one another – the brain is not the mind, and the mind not the brain. A skilled surgeon can operate on the brain, but not on thoughts, and it is the thought processes we are changing. Intelligence only enters the equation when we identify the need to change our thinking.

The mind dwells at a deep subconscious level – the subconscious is always awake – even when we’re asleep, it’s managing our breathing, our blood-flow and a myriad of other functions – it directs every nanosecond of our existence. At the same time our mind goes on thinking – albeit at a deeper level while we’re asleep. The brain and mind of course are intrinsically linked, but we seek to create within ourselves an ability that comes not from brain-power but from the mind.

In my next article we will take a journey that will visit our own mind, one that will allow the formation of the process of taking possession of our own mind, and allowing us to act and react the way we want to. For now though find an appropriate self-motivator, one you feel happy with, one you can easily recall. Practise using it, repeat it over and over until it becomes a habit.

Here’s Some Suggestions For Your SELF- MOTIVATOR.

1. BELIEVE IT, ACHIEVE IT

a2. I FEEL HEALTHY, I FEEL HAPPY, I FEEL TERRIFIC

3. DO IT NOW

4. I BELIEVE I CAN ACHIEVE

5. HOW, NOT IF!

6. VICTORY IS WON IN INCHES, NOT MILES

7. I CAN I WILL
