The BMX bikes are provided with about 20″ diameter wheels. BMX jumps bicycles have bigger wheel diameter than the general BMX bikes. For tall and fat riders recommended diameter of the wheel are about 24″. Most of the jump bikes have 13 gauge spokes where as the free style bikes have about 48 gage spokes. Tires of the bikes also vary. Jump bikes have to concentrate on the tractions rather than speed and therefore tires of the bikes are heavily treaded among all other BMX bikes. On the other hand freestyle BMX bikes have smooth treads for easy use on the pavements and indoor. To perform the trick BMX bikes are provided with the axle pegs.
