So you want to learn Spanish but don’t have the money to pay for a private teacher? Then, don’t pay for a tutor. Why waste money?. There is an additional option to study – through interactive classes online. You see, language courses are expensive, more so if you stay in an area where the language is not commonly spoken. I learned this the hard way the first time I tried to learn español. I came across a instructor who was highly fluent in the language, but at the rate that she was charging me, it would have been better if I flew straight to Spain and learnt the language from the locals themselves!
I had been working as a teacher in the Midwest for several years when my husband got transferred to the west coast. I figured that I would have no problem finding a job, and I didn’t, but when I got in the classroom the very first day, I was surprised. Nearly half of the students in my class had limited English skills and I was expected to somehow meet them in the middle. I had no training of Spanish whatsoever, and the only Spanish words I knew were “gracias” and how to order off a Mexican restaurant menu!
Since I’m not the youngest individual around, I always presumed that studying a new language would be impossible. So, I just never tried. Then, I decided to understand the language from a teacher. Admittedly, I should have guessed from day one that this was a mistake. My instructor helped me a lot, but this was the only positive thing about the whole experience. I had to drive no less than two hours to just reach my teacher’s destination! Then, there were the fees. The training itself had a price that was practically as much as I was making from my job! When one of my co-teachers told me of Synergy Spanish and how it helped her master how to communicate with some of her students, I understood that I had to try it. After all, I had to help these kids and by learning some of their language, I could teach more of mine. Moreover, there was, in simple terms, no way I could keep on paying my instructor what she was charging me.
There are naturally quite a few online programs that will teach you how to talk in Spanish, but honestly, I didn’t have the time or energy to sit through months’ worth of audiotapes and practice conjugation over and over. I needed to know the basics, how to converse, and how to understand what people were saying. Synergy Spanish has a distinctive strategy to the language and is not taught in the average way, which means that they can teach you much more in a shorter amount of time.
This application comes with 68 audio lessons (which sounds like a lot, I know!), that can be played on your computer, your CD player, or on an MP3 player. You can master the language, like the way I did, on the way to work in the morning in your car, or while jogging on the treadmill at the gym. Irrespective of your approach, the most critical thing, is the way that the lessons are structured.
Believe it or not, you can understand Spanish by using Synergy Spanish while not having to understand a million words, phrases, and technical grammar. Only learn 138 words and you can have enough Spanish skills to get by in nearly any situation. I did not think that this could possibly be true until I started to see the look of amazement on some of my students’ faces. Over the course of two weeks, they considered me as a Spanish-speaking teacher!
I won’t tell you that this was a walk in the park for me since it wasn’t. Even so, it was a lot easier than I thought it would ever be. I am planning a trip to Mexico later this year, to practise what I have learned so far, and I am not at all frightened about it. I know that with the knowledge I got from Synergy Spanish and the confidence that I have now, I should be fine in nearly any circumstance I find myself in. I could definitely do so much more than order off a Mexican restaurant menu!
